Susan Krauss is a masters level licensed psychotherapist who has worked with children, adults, and families for 20+ years. She earned a Bachelors Degree from Cornell University with a major in Child Development and Family Studies and a Masters in Social Work from New York University. Susan has worked in various settings counseling children, teens and young adults from elementary school through college-age. She has conducted parenting support groups and developed/facilitated many types of therapeutic groups for children with various needs. She practices multiple therapeutic modalities including cognitive behavioral therapy and attachment focused family therapy. Susan has vast experience counseling children struggling with Depression and Anxiety as well as those who have experienced Grief and Complex trauma (loss, illness, abuse, adoption), as well as those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (AD/HD), Sensory Processing Disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Conduct Disorder, and other psychological issues. Susan collaborates closely with school administrators, psychologists, psychiatrists, teachers and parents to formulate social/emotional, behavioral and educational plans for students. Susan has provided services to public and private mainstream schools, special needs schools, international schools, hospitals, clinics, and for private institutions.

In addition to her work with children and families, Susan also counsels’ adults impacted by mood disorders, parenting struggles, marital issues, life transitions and other challenges.

Susan is trained in many modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).

Susan lives in Weston, CT with her husband, 2 sons and 2 dogs.
